OK,

I tried this back in 2010 and failed epically because I just ran out of time :)

I'm planning a trip over to the UK next August/September to visit my Mum and was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a get-together? I'll have my (3 year-old) daughter and my Wife so it would be fun to do it somewhere where the kids and adults could enjoy themselves. I was thinking of doing something down south, like LegoLand and something further north (like Alton Towers). It would be a Saturday or a Sunday. I'd flesh out the details a bit more once I got a feel for who would be up for it.

Any takers?

Hi Mark,

What a brilliant idea. Legoland sounds fine for us here (we're right near Stansted airport) and they do lots of deals and offers over the summer months which I would be happy to keep an eye out for.

Count us in, have 3 boys 13, 12 and 9 and they would be up for it but alternatively would also be happy to travel to Alton Towers.

Hi Mark,

We'd be up for it too if we can. I have a 9 yr old girl who would be very keen on Alton Towers or Legoland. It would be great to meet up.

Yes, goodness, when I joined the board your daughter was about to be born! :). Three is such a sweet age, I bet she's gorgeous.

Hi Sam and Catherine,

I often wonder where the time has gone too, but then I look in the mirror and see all those extra wrinkles and grey hairs and it all comes back to me ;)

My Mum lives down in Bournemouth and I have a lot of friends in the Bucks/Berks area, so we'd probably do Legoland first, then do Alton Towers. I'm pretty sure we'll have a car, so the travel wouldn't be a problem.

We're not planning any European excursions this time, so I'm looking forward to having time to meet up with folks :D

More details to follow.

Best regards,
Mark

Hi James,

Anyone and everyone here is welcome :)

If you could make it, it would be great to meet you.

I should know more about the dates early next year, so I'll post them as soon as I know.

Best regards,
Mark

1 old Ginger Tom cat called Cookie.16 years.
Hi Mark
That sounds a brilliant idea. I live in Blackpool so Alton Towers is quite near to me.
I would love to go though it all depends on my condition whether I could manage it. I have degenerative disc disease in my neck and lower back and also multiple nerve compression syndrome so I can't walk very far and couldn't go on any rides.
I have 3 big strong teenagers who could push me round in a wheelchair. My daughter is 18 and my sons are 15 and 12. They would love it.
It would be so nice to put faces to names and meet other people as passionate about their lizards as I am.

Hi Terri,

I'd love to see you if you could make it but certainly understand if you couldn't. Let's see how you are feeling nearer the time :)

Best regards,
Mark

I'm not sure if there's still any interest in this but I thought I'd 'bump' it just in case.

We plan on being in the U.K. in a few weeks and were wondering if any folks on the Board wanted to meet up (preferrably in a 'kid friendly' location like Alton Towers or Legoland?).

Totally understand if you can't make it but it would be nice to put some faces to names :)

Cheers,
Mark
